First, it is important to note that you were never an employee with North Star. You were an independent contractor working for yourself and engaging us in a subscription service to help build your insurance sales business. There must have been some misunderstanding in terms of how the commissions work. North Star does not pay out commissions, as commissions are paid directly by the insurance carrier. The statement that North Star will “charge you back 100 percent of your cancels!” is false. Agents who have clients cancel their policy are only charged back for the advance they receive from the insurance carrier.
