Pros
- Casual dress
- Good communication among the technicians
- Solid focus on pleasing the customer
- Compensation can be good, however (*see below under advice*)
- COO is trying to improve company culture
- The company, I believe, will continue to grow over the next year or so due to market position
Cons
- Poor work/life balance: if you work a 70 hour work week and take two hours off the following Monday morning... expect to take PTO hours. You may or may not get a thank you.
- Numerous highly unprofessional experiences with the CEO
- CEO burns bridges with, what should be, valuable strategic partnerships
- Sr Management lacks deep technical knowledge, or at least, a respect for the complexity of quality IT solutions. As a result, expectations for service delivery are unrealistic both financially and practically.
- Lack of process and best practices over the years has resulted in an infrastructure that needs a tremendous amount of improvement; this was ignored by the CEO until critical outages proved otherwise.
- Often unable to implement simple changes to improve process and efficiency simply because management didn't want to 'change' (regardless of how cumbersome and inefficient)
