Pros

Novuna is a great place to work for a lot of reasons. If you’ve got the motivation to learn new skills and are willing to put the effort in, there’s definitely a clear path to progress your career. Everyone learns at their own pace, which is really respected here. Projects can be demanding at times, but there’s a strong support network in place. You can openly say “I’m not sure” and get the help you need without feeling judged, no matter how many questions you ask. It’s a large company with multiple business areas, so if you’re interested in exploring something new, you can have open and honest conversations with your line manager about moving into different parts of the business. There’s also a lot of training available, both in terms of time and materials. You might not get through everything during your working day, but depending on your development plan, you can use that as a springboard to keep learning in your own time (although that might not suit everyone). One thing I really value is how easy it is to communicate with people at all levels of the business. It creates a genuinely open and honest working environment.

Cons

I can't think of any

Pros

The hybrid model of 1 day in the office per week allows for great work/ life balance. The holiday buy/ sell up to 5 days. There are good social events that are out on throughout the year like quizzes, meet ups and in office entertainment.

Cons

The pay is not competitive at all for grade 2 employees compared to similar businesses in the industry. A lot of management are incompetent, unprofessional and unsupportive. Feedback is not taken seriously a lot of the time and progression up the business is rarely offered. A lack of time to team build and get to know colleagues. The office environment itself is not a great place to work and uninviting. The systems are very outdated and some are unnecessarily hard to use. There are more growth opportunities for managers than anyone else. Training that is delivered on processes is poor and vague sometimes. There is a lack of understanding and support for health related issues, mental health and especially for neurodiverse colleagues.

Hi, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience has not fully reflected the culture and values we strive to uphold at Novuna. As a Disability Confident Employer, we are committed to creating an inclusive, supportive and respectful workplace for all colleagues. We continually review our wellbeing initiatives, development programmes and performance frameworks to ensure everyone feels valued and able to succeed. The points you have raised will be shared with the relevant teams so we can continue to learn and improve. We would like to provide some clarity around pay. All of our roles are regularly benchmarked against external market data to ensure fairness and competitiveness, and individual pay is reviewed on an ongoing basis as part of our remuneration processes. We encourage colleagues to engage in regular career conversations with their managers so we can best support their development and future aspirations. We recognise the importance of strong leadership, meaningful feedback and understanding individual needs. We continue to invest in inclusive leadership capability and inclusive training for all colleagues. We offer a variety of tailored adjustments and specialist support based on each individual’s needs. Alongside this, we have employee networks such as our CAN (Colleague Ability Network) community, which help ensure all voices are heard and represented. We are also committed to improving systems and processes across the business. Through initiatives such as our Our Voice and the Bright Ideas forum, colleagues can share suggestions and feedback, which feeds directly into the continuous improvement work underway to update tools and ways of working. We encourage regular in office collaboration to strengthen team connection and culture, and we host a variety of internal and external events throughout the year to help colleagues build relationships across the business. If you feel comfortable doing so, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss your experience in more detail. Please reach out to a member of the HR team so that we can understand your concerns and offer further support. Thank you again for your feedback and for your contribution during your time with us.
