OPEN VIE: by far the worst company I have worked for - Anonymous employee OPEN Health Employee Review

Pros

One pro: there are friendly people there (for the most part)

Cons

In no particular order: 1. Prospects are incredibly limited. Promotion only seems to be available to those who are favourites or sycophants 2. No scheduled pay rises, and what's worse is they make it incredibly difficult to go about scheduling a pay review. Also, wages are below the industry standard and trust me when I say they will not be willing to match it! 3. Two-faced working environment; people are very ready to throw anyone under the bus 4. Most of the Line Managers have no actual managerial experience, this is reflected in their poor decision-making and lack of organisation 5. A suspiciously high staff turnover rate; in 2 years of service I lost count of how many people came and went as it was just extraordinary

Many thanks for taking the time to submit your feedback, we do really value it. We carry out quarterly staff feedback reviews enabling us to get a real sense of the current mindset within our business. We encourage all individuals to feedback regularly to their Line Manager and through the quarterly review process, as well as through our Employee Representatives. We feel confident that we have good support systems in place which give employees several different routes for support and guidance, in addition to the above - also Mental Health First Aiders, an Employee Assistance Programme (24/7 helpline) as well as much investment into management training at all levels. With these different channels we hope that individuals feel comfortable in sharing any concerns they might have allowing us the opportunity to resolve matters successfully.

Pros

Great place. Been here almost 5 years. Highly recommend.

Cons

Well, it's been a bit tumultuous in the industry of late, but I think we're being navigated ably through it.

Pros

You get to work from home. That is the only benefit.

Cons

You will work overtime without compensation every single day. When it comes time for a raise you will consistently get below industry standard with no ability to negotiate or talk to the decision makers (they will just email you from an address you can not respond to, to avoid the chance that you may counter). When it comes time for a promotion they will give you a new salary that matches the position below your new one, and again, will give you no opportunity to negotiate or discuss your insulting raise. There are no bonuses at all, so get that notion out of your mind. Executive leadership cares more about creating acronyms than actually resourcing departments appropriately. And the moment you show a willingness to go above and beyond, instead of rewarding you, they will simply give you more responsibility with no additional compensation. I was recently promoted, and am now making the salary I should have been making in my last position. I had one of the VP’s at the company recently tell me that I should be making 30k more at least, and to start looking for a new job because this company doesn’t care about retaining talented employees.
