Really poor record on safety - CSTM Delivery Driver Ocado Logistics Employee Review

The Leeds depot is known as a bit of a bad one across the Ocado sites. It has the highest turnover in the UK, and the wages are 5p above minimum wage which is quite insulting when you consider that Leeds isn't particularly cheap. My main issue was Safety. A lot of times, vans would have bits hanging off from being crashed, tote dollies that would bend and trap your fingers, and headlights that wouldn't work and marshalls tried to get you to take out. One of the managers, I believe it was Hayley, tried to get a van with a broken gearbox to limp it back to the depot at 3mph. I believe he was in Harrogate at the time, and he'd have to do so on 50mph roads - which is a textbook driving without due care and attention case. Thankfully it was recovered. This was in a month when the depot had switched to all-Ford and the depot was averaging mutliple breakdowns a day in heat. But the constant speed you have to go at (particularly Morrisons) is quite unsafe and leads to drivers driving very carelessly, as I see them round me every day. I do not miss it at all.
