The workweek for exempt managers is absolutely detrimental to a healthy work/life balance and is a major source of turnover.
HIRE BOOKKEEPERS!!!! Managers, especially at closing time, SHOULD NOT be buried in an office in the back occupied with cash handling/ accounting procedure when they are in control of the entire building; they belong on the front end overseeing the closing and seeing the last entries into the building for the well being of the store assets and the associates. Any and all cash out procedures can be done by a trained associate with the guidance and verification of a manager.
