Pros
- The wellhub benefits are great, as well as some of the people being truly kind.
- They do a great job recruiting young talent, everyone is smart and capable.
Cons
- There is, at the end of the day, zero differentiation in this product from anything done at GLG or Alphasights. Office Hours does the same stuff on it's expert network side, but tries to brand itself as a tech startup. The way Office Hours sought to differentiate themselves, and does, is by working their junior employees around the clock.
- The work life balance is atrocious, specifically for junior Client Solutions associates and on the client solutions team in general. There were weeks where, factoring my hours, I made far less than minimum wage in San Francisco and New York (where both offices are). Also, the difference between the enterprise team and consulting teams hours are stark and that should be accounted for. I was once told I would just have to "live with not doing anything during the week", which is fine for consultants and Investment bankers who sign up for that and are paid accordingly. I was also told that the first thing I should do when I wake up is check slack, and the last thing I should do before I go to bed is check slack. I think the culture demands so much of you for little reward, and burnout on the team is rampant.
- bonuses are weak so you don't feel like you're really working towards something.
- Management can be rude and stress inducing to "get results", when all it does is cause fear mongering in the workplace. There is no tolerance for even a second away from your computer screen, calling it productive.
