A Culture of Control with No Room to Grow - Software Engineer Office Line Employee Review

Pros

Salary paid on time. Exposure to cloud and infrastructure projects, especially early on.

Cons

Micromanagement is constant — every task tracked, every hour justified. No trust. Toxic communication from certain managers. Yelling and public pressure were usual. C-level leadership felt disconnected. No clear strategy, just short-term pushes and vague promises. Long hours are expected. Burnout is treated like a personal weakness, not a company issue. No career path. Good people leave, and it’s brushed off as “normal.” The “family” culture only applies if you’re in the inner circle. Otherwise, don’t expect support.

Pros

Pay on time. This is the only pros.

Cons

My experience was disappointing and helps explain the company’s high employee turnover. There are no real career growth opportunities. Roles remain static regardless of performance, initiative, or results. Professional development seems to stop where family interests begin. The company operates as a closed, family-run structure. Key decisions are often made by family members who do not necessarily have the required technical or managerial expertise, leading to favoritism, lack of meritocracy and minimal trust in professionals outside the family circle. Micromanagement is part of the daily routine. Too many voices, conflicting instructions, constant pressure and raised voices instead of constructive dialogue. This creates a stressful environment and it is not surprising that many capable professionals eventually leave. For anyone seeking a modern, professional and healthy work environment in the tech sector, Office Line SA was not, in my experience, the right place.
