Pros

* AI is heavily integrated into the business, and AI training is encouraged across teams. * Compensation is competitive. * Regular social events and team activities. * Central London office with convenient access from Waterloo and Charing Cross.

Cons

* Job security was nonexistent. There’s extremely high employee turnover, with people often leaving very suddenly and with no transparency around decisions. * Lack of structured onboarding, documentation, and scalable internal processes. * Recognition for strong performance was limited, and most interactions across the business were highly transactional. * The feedback culture was one-way, with no opportunities for employees to provide upward feedback. * Communication from senior leadership was usually abrupt and lacking in empathy. * Employees were expected to self-serve solutions without any mentorship or support from management. * Career progression and promotions weren't transparent or tied to experience and capability. * Work-life balance and employee well-being weren't prioritised or even mentioned. * Hiring processes were inconsistent, with many vacancies remaining open for 6+ months even when hiring needs were active. * Office facilities need significant improvement - broken lifts, limited toilets, and poor coffee facilities were recurring issues. At some stage, you have to ask yourself whether the compensation outweighs the constant anxiety and uncertainty that comes with the environment. While fast-paced environments naturally come with challenges, ‘startup culture’ doesn’t explain the issues around leadership, communication, and employee experience. Overall, there are talented people at the company and interesting work being done, but the culture and management approach made it impossible to see a long-term future there.
