Pros
I started at Oliver Parks straight out of Durham University, and have loved the professional growth I have experienced since day one. After training I was thrown right into my own market, with full responsibility for it, but it's far from a sink or swim environment. I have seen it more as jumping in at the deep end with Michael Phelps only a word away, giving you the room to grow as fast as you possibly can on your own, but backed up by years of experience when you need a word of wisdom. Personal goals are clearly defined, but if not reached you are not insulted for not being good enough, rather management discusses with you why you haven't got there, and what it is you and they can do to help you get to where you want to be. The working environment is excellent, long hours together are made easy by the amicable professional relationships. Internal competition is encouraged but is friendly, with everyone working together towards continuing our fast growth. Another perk is an excellent commission structure and reward scheme. If you work hard enough and do your job well, your earning potential is only as limited as you are.
Cons
If you want a 9-5, you shouldn't be in recruitment. This is an industry with big ups but also big downs, so you have to know or be ready to learn if you can deal with this. But if you want an exciting place to experience this and to be able to keep growing and learning, Oliver Parks is a great place to be.
