Pros

When you find your place in the professional world, there's really nothing that can slow you down. Ologie is that place for smart, creative, values-based people. I've had the honor of working at Ologie for over 5 years. You're surrounded by some of the best creative and strategic talent in the country. A place where everyone wants to do the best work possible — not to sell products, but to good in the world. It's a foundation built from how the company treats its employees – always looking to do right by employees who end up becoming family. I've both seen and experienced the genuine care that Ologie takes for its employees and clients. Having worked at a few other large non-profit marketing departments, culture is where Ologie really shines. Over the past year, leadership has demonstrated its deep commitment to the employees and the community at large by listening and responding more quickly than ever. It's always been a place that thrives through change – seeking new and better ways to work and relate to one another. At Ologie, you'll work alongside the owners of the business and people with many years of experience who will help you learn and grow. You'll be challenged by your peers to do your best all the time, and when life gets in the way and your best has to be a little less, know that your peers will step in to lift you up. Ologie is a place that cares about each other. We want to see our colleagues happy and thriving in a professional endeavor that is rewarding and fun. You have to be able to have fun with the process of creating. Bottom line: If you care about doing high-quality creative work, surrounded by super smart and talented people, Ologie may be your place and I'd love for you to come work with us.

Cons

There is a pressure to always perform at a high level. This pressure works well for people like me, keeping me sharp, engaged in my work, and always striving to improve. But for some this pressure may be difficult to carry day-to-day. There is some travel – at times a lot and at others times not a lot. But your colleagues look out for you to help keep it balanced. There is a steep learning curve. Not only is Ologie a fast-paced agency, but layer in the complexity of higher education and the "Ologie way" and we ask new hires to learn a lot. That first year is a tremendous year of learning. The Ologie way is a working style that: distills complexity into something simple and clear, tells a story with every presentation, and that works really hard to make an actual difference for our clients. It can heighten the learning curve but it's always what has given Ologie a national reputation for being one of the best in the business. Leadership is continually improving and modifying the onboarding process to help new hires find success. You will work hard to do really smart creative work. Overtime, your portfolio will reflect that. Colleagues can become your family. You're a part of the Ologie the day you're hired but it's up to you how much you let others into your life. Some will become a really close group of friends and others will keep it as strictly colleagues. Successful Ologists have high standards. If you don't have high standards, you will not enjoy working here. Higher education is complex and Ologie does a lot of it. You have to enjoy the process of learning, failing, and solving each problem more than you love the actual output.

Pros

some genuinely creative people in the ranks.

Cons

Petty, small-minded ownership who believe in the myth of their own genius. A back-biting, mean culture that will push anyone with an ounce of integrity right out the door. Clients, know that your work is thoughtlessly slapped together minutes before you see it and presented assertively so as to put off your your questions.
