Pros
I've worked for Olson for over seven years and have seen it grow from a small, Minneapolis-centric "digital shop" into a large, multi-office, multi-discipline agency that now recruits talent and clients from all over North America. It's my fourth agency and by far the one where I've felt the most welcomed and supported from day one. My raises have been far superior to anywhere else I've worked. In fact, I'm impressed with the number of people who've been able to try new jobs and areas within the company, as opposed to being pigeon-held in role where they are no longer happy. I love how often people are promoted from within, and I trust my colleagues. I have fun coming to this place called "work" and that's worth its weight in gold.
Cons
The spirit of our founder John Olson is definitely missed. Our growth has been fast and exciting! But as we've grown, we, like many others, struggle to keep a tight connection to everyone within our company. Employees rely too heavily on the top management to create culture when it can and should come from everywhere within the company.
