Pros
They do give back a lot to Hawai'i and have strong relationships with the locals (although nearly 100% of corporate employees are white). Employee discounts on product are very generous.
Cons
There's a lot of toxic behavior in the C-suite that does not get addressed with the company being privately held. You will unfortunately have quite of bit of interaction with these problematic individuals with the company running so lean. It's clear that leadership has no experience growing a business and they churn through inexperienced middle-management to save a buck. Talented workers burn out quickly and move on with limited space to grow. Leadership touts a culture of 'ohana but have no problem throwing you under the bus in meetings to shift focus away from themselves. I saw many people leave 1-1 meetings in tears after getting ripped apart by their managers as well as numerous HR violations that were never addressed.
