Pros
On was by far the best, most progressive company I have ever worked for. My manager was based out of the US and, although my entire job was remote, he trusted me to do that job well. In my first 6 weeks of working for On I was flown to Zurich for the annual sales meeting. I was always given free reign to innovate and grow my territory. I set my own schedule and was provided with a new vehicle, travel allowance, phone allowance, and totally flexible vacation days. I was even granted a week of leave when my dog passed away tragically and unexpectedly. I cannot speak highly enough of this experience or my US based manager and team.
Cons
Senior Canadian leadership is the sole reason I would not recommend this company. I experienced bullying, manipulative, unpredictable, unprofessional and childish behaviour. One particular senior leader also liked to speak about their illicit drug use, often during team meetings. Senior leadership do not trust the team and this is obvious by the way they speak down to team members. Despite numerous HR complaints from the team over the years, myself included, HR seemed unable or unwilling to do anything about this. HR’s reasons for not removing leaders from their positions included “that’s just who they are” or "they were only joking about the drug use”. This type of leadership is entirely at odds with On's culture; it greatly devalues the brand and On as an employer. Again, senior leadership is the sole reason I would not recommend someone take a role with On, at least not in Canada.
