Pros
Was a fantastic place to work for many years. There was a mission to do right by the community, an unusual and genuine attempt to make a difference. Not everything was perfect of course, but we did a lot of good stuff over the years and it was a great place to work in many respects.
Cons
Within weeks of the previous CEO leaving, the toxicity began. I am still shocked at how quickly the mood shifted. I have been through organisational change a few times but this was different. Suddenly everything had to be controlled and authorised by the new CEO alone, meaning that even directors and senior managers were unable to do anything without explicit permission. Or if they were, they were often ruthlessly undermined. Which of course just ground everything to a halt, and nothing of substance replaced that void. Everything was left to drift, stagnate, and then fall apart, whilst bad decisions piled on top of other bad decisions with no reasoning other than to make changes for changes sake and without any understanding of the consequences. A total farce, and a complete lack of ability to admit mistakes, or learn from them. New senior management came in whose key attribute was absolute loyalty. Fear, gaslighting and disrespect were normalised. So many good staff left before I did. A load more have since. I am glad I got out when I did. I feel sorry for anyone still in that environment, and would advise others to stay away.
