Working in a unique international organization has provided challenges and opportunities for me to grow my career in every single way possible. I have learned new technical skills and strengthened soft skills to build relationships across our global community. I love supporting brilliant minds who are invested in making an impact on reformers around the world.

Financial constraints in the international development landscape have led to budget-driven decisions. My colleagues are compassionate, inspiring individuals, and I am so eager for the opportunity to meet them in person. This is not a downside specific to OGP, as I know many other nonprofits are in a similar conundrum.

Definitely an organization that lives up to its name being very open and supportive. My manager is amazing—very direct without being rude, always giving feedback without making you feel small.

The organization has work in half the UN member countries, but staffing is dominated by those from the Americas and Europe. Only regional roles (and few exceptions) go to people from other regions. A few of the higher ranked staff are inefficient but get by because of their strong team members (and ironically unaware of it).
