Pros
Great coworkers (Engineers) Cutting Edge products (that are slipping behind...) Fast Paced R&D Engineers "own" products from concept to first production
Cons
- Used to be a highly versatile small job shop with wide range of programs that got lost attempting to transition to a higher volume "production" company focused on 1-2 products - Top level management over the last 3-4 years spent more time trying to copy competitors and constantly re-orient business plan to the next shiniest object than doing any real management -Management told customers what they thought the customer wanted instead of listening, expected bottom bidding vendors to produce parts outside their capabilities, and constantly re-scoped programs without making budget or schedule adjustments - directly resulting in missed deadlines, cost over runs and unnecessary technical issues - Engineers were constantly blamed for problems resultant of poor management and expected to work excessive hours to compensate for lack of planning and discipline at the top of the company. - Due to the above on top of an already intense R&D work schedule low retention and high turn over rate was common - Extreme lack of respect for employees and horrible company Morale - see movie Office Space or comic Dilbert....
