Pros
Small but very competent group of very talented employees and return contract labor. Team oriented group of collaborative developers. Minimal red tape, bureaucracy, and no politics.
Cons
Mergers have caused some layoffs and concerns for stability, however management does clearly let you know where you/your group stands with respect to layoffs. Year end budgetary cycle causes projects to be shoe horned into unnatural release cycle(s)
