Pros
OHI has a transformational program. During my 3 years of working there i have seen some guests turn their life around. I have seen hope reborn for some of the guests that came with none. Facilitators and staff are amazing. They put a a big smile in the outside even though they are constantly under pressure and unnecessary verbal and mental abuse. The staff and guests makes OHI what it is while upper management is after their lavish lifestyle.
Cons
Cons has only one name in OHI = CEO. Self promoted CEO is the most narcissistic person there is next to D.T. He is fast to blame and create tensions among employees. Management is not allowed to show their skills and free thinking is not encouraged. My manager was always under stress and hated meeting with the CEO. We all knew when CEO was around it would be a bad day for everyone. It was such an irony when staff was given mandatory orders to read books learning about Leadership, Time management etc, while it was the CEO that did everything opposite of what the books were about. One of the reviewers had mention before which i think is a very valid point. OHI leadership is all about making money. Employees are put through the ringer for missing a sale. The Church status is more of a tax shield. There is also a Board who it seams the only reason is to serve the CEO with no power to ever challenge him. It is a fine place to work as long as you have no dealing with the CEO.
