Pros

Schedule your own appointments with customer. Hopefully your leads in your territory make it to you for the official assigned territory that you are in. The training process is first class (if conducted in the right way). My training was pretty on point. I made The second highest grade in our branch on the Georgia Licencing test (I am familiar with, and use to taking a state common core college style exam in Georgia ).

Cons

There is no emphasis, much less support on the continuing/finishing your college education. This is not a job suited for a person that is taking a break from college for a year/or just a semester that will be obtaining their college degree. This is also not a job to ever consider if you have obtained or you are going to obtain your college degree. This is also not a job I would consider in the future when you have 2+ years of college/university under your belt. This is from a South Georgia perspective. I cannot speak for any branch outside of this region. If you are like myself... my goal is to benefit Southern Georgia. Marketing would be what I am disgusted with the most. Marketing sucks point blank from a business aspect in South Georgia. Orkin has gained a horrible reputation as of right now in this region. South Georgia supports a local economy.

Pros

Opportunity to work for a well-established and respected industry leader with a strong reputation. Competitive pay with performance-based incentives and opportunities to increase earnings. Comprehensive training and ongoing professional development to build valuable skills. Clear career advancement opportunities into leadership, management, or specialized roles. Excellent teamwork and support from experienced colleagues and managers.

Cons

Long hours and overtime may be required during peak pest control seasons. Daily exposure to pests, insects, rodents, and tight or uncomfortable spaces may not be suitable for everyone. Meeting sales or performance goals can be stressful, especially in customer-facing roles. Work schedules may include evenings or weekends to accommodate customer needs.
