Limited tech stack (SQL, Excel, SSRS, and Power BI). To much focus on operational day-day tasks rather than high value strategic projects. Most Data Scientists would not work with python, cloud technologies or build machine learning models. 4 days in the office. Imbalanced pay structure: Salaries in the data science department were mostly based on educational background and not business value or performance. Eg) Non-Actuarial experienced Data Scientists or managers could earn less than Data Science juniors (with an Actuarial background).
