Pros
Most of the people are lovely. The design work is unlike any other, which is always fun and a great learning experience for a designer. Because the design work is so unique the clients are typically the kind of people who appreciate pushing the envelope.
Cons
Lack of communication and teamwork. Each department looks after itself and doesn't work in the interest of the company as a whole. The "that's not my job" mentality is prevalent here. The pay is pretty terrible and the only way to ever get more money is to take on more responsibility. Just doing an excellent job is not enough to get even a modest raise most of the time. Asking for a raise is a treacherous game because along with money comes double the expectations and when you don't meet them your job seems to be on the line. The owner seems to be getting a little better but she can be extremely condescending, rude and dismissive.
