Pros
Some excellent faculty and program staff.
Cons
Want to work for a good organization? Do NOT come here. Everyone is sick and/or sad. Serious institutional deficiencies. Shoddy administration. They’ve had something like 12 presidents over the last 10 years and four VPs of Enrollment Management over the last year and half. … Arrogant, incompetent, insecure. Nothing of substance gets done outside of the classroom. The results — low student success rates, low enrollment numbers, high employee turnover, an internal communications disorder, and lots of people on medical (stress) leave. There are 100+ community colleges in California. Don’t waste your time on this one. It’s a career ZERO, especially if Cynthia Azari is still president. Want to know more about the culture? Here’s an anecdote: imagine working for an institution for more than 20 years and then having the new president gleefully fire you without warning. Then imagine dying three weeks later from a surprise cancer and having your death unmentioned by leadership. Heartless. I feel for anyone who every joined this organization thinking it was mission-driven. Save your spirit, save your career. Look elsewhere.
