Pros
Good Job Security, Great Interaction with the customer, Great place to Learn
Cons
Not much room for upward professional mobility, the company business model is very flat in this manner. Not much professional training available, this is more than likely due to the fact that the company is a government contractor with little funding available for this. Not much willingness on the part of management to listen to technical reasoning when deciding how to approach problems. As this is a government contract decisions are made more due to political needs rather then technical needs. There are some members of management who do not have the technical background to understand technical solutions. These individuals should not be in these positions but rather in positions subordinate to those (engineers) who have the technical knowledge and experience.
