Pros

This review is specific to the St. Louis location. Great for beginners. It is clean, safe, and they use good products. It is a learning environment (the two days of training they give). There is a lot of talent and good personality to work with. It's well-located. Parking was easy when I worked there but apparently, some new businesses opened since I was last there, so it may be more difficult.

Cons

They think they treat their employees perfectly. "You get hourly and commission! And tip!" It's your fault if you don't get a great tip nor are you trained on services that bring in bigger tips. The people who train are fully booked and only sit with you for an hour. Here's two days of training and a client who is 20 minutes late. Most, if not all, start around 11 an hour with no opportunity to get a raise (one girl told me 50 cents). Barely any commission (like $2 a service I think, and you don't get a pay stub so I had to sift through my schedule and calculate myself). Don't believe their Glassdoor ad. Only work here if you are just starting out. If you already have regular clients, you are losing money. The owner will do anything to squeeze in an appointment to maximize profit (even if it's a short service). The front desk runs around like chickens with their heads cut off since there was only one person when I worked there. Even slowly getting busier while I was there, that was still too much for one person. I always felt bad for them. There is a very high turnover rate (I wasn't there long) then they will admit. It's just like any other place where the techs make next to nothing and their own pockets it all.

Pros

The coworkers are amazing and it’s such a fun environment. Pay isn’t bad for a starting nail tech but you may need a second job if you’re trying to live off the paycheck. You do get 100% of your tips tho!

Cons

Please note that this was my specific location but I have heard similar complaints about other locations as well- The owners were micromanaging and money hungry, cared more about the clients than their own employees and said this was a “drama free” environment… please… first of all, in the beauty industry there will always be SOME kind of drama, second…. THEY were the ones starting drama! There was also loose evidence of conversations being recorded in the break room (which was tiny btw and could hardly fit four or five people in it comfortably AND it was gross). They also never ordered product on time, we’d often go MONTHS without popular polishes bc stuff wasnt getting ordered. At one point we only had HALF the gels that we had swatched and the gels we did have had been there since the store opened in 2018! They also said they would do “monthly outings” “holiday dinners” and such… i think they took us out for dinner ONCE and we had to pay for everything ourselves. I am pleased to say this location shut down a few days ago but it’s so disappointing to know the same issues are happening elsewhere.
