Pros
I can honestly say that PCORI has some of the smartest and innovative people working in their contributing levels. The work that they do is fantastic and they really keep things together. Some other high level pros: - A consensus network of colleagues who are mainly united with their requests of management - flexibility of the staff to adapt to changes in work/life balance - Salaries are at or above the national rates
Cons
It really comes down to two things: - Too many directors who all need to have their say, review all documents, and micro manage many of the day to day operations. Which leads to.... - a lack of trust of contributing employees who do not have the autonomy to do their work, they guidance for leadership to prioritize projects, or the ear of their managers to really listen to when there are ether problems within the organization or a consensus voice of what the staffs needs.
