Pros
PDX movers as a whole is mixed and I understand this we aren't perfect people so sometimes its hit and miss, but the owners of pdx movers have a unique understanding to people's lives and know moving is stressful and hard financially. The people here are amazing and we all come here to enjoy our day a little bit more with the unique challenges of jobs and who we work for. I see a lot of potential and its slowly getting there. Management tries their best on a daily to find ways to make the day go efficiently and smooth. Callouts happen and it gets handled. trucks have maintenance issues, but that's expected of trucks working daily 365 days of the year for thousands of hours and miles. PDX will take care of their equipment as long as they can afford it. Equipment is expensive so I do my best to take care of it as I use it by keeping it clean in the front and the back. the image matters. management is professional and crews have a system/chain of command that works
A sense of pride in our work
loyalty to the team with managment being the best it has been
We arent a family thats an ICK a lot of companies use its a great bond we have here and our employers are also our friends here. I enjoy coming here to see my friends and coworkers have a great day everyday.
postive outlook here no depressing vibes
great work ethic from mike and David will go out of their way to keep customers happy above and beyond service. I was told a customer has damages that were completely covered beyond the minimum and it saved them a lot of headaches so good feedback on a daily
promotions are possibe but limited for now
raises are possible under the right circumstance
flexible schedule
ability to use phone for music is a plus
drive time thats paid is a plus
trips out of state and in different climates is great
good protection equipment and tools needed
Max our salesman and Grady are great from customer experiences when setting up jobs
Cons
Need bigger incentives to stay average employment is between 9 months - 3 years becuase moving is limited its understandable. Can grow if the circumstances are in place
Rank/chain of command structure needs to increase to more positions
better truck maintaince structure but understandable given funding during difference seasons and on the road time
cost of living causing current pay and structure to not work
