Pros
I've worked here for over 10 years, largely for 1 reason - the culture of the company is one that accepts and even encourages individuality. You can be entirely yourself, and from what I hear in other sectors/organisations, that's not normal. If you have to spend more time with your colleagues than your family and friends, you should enjoy it as much as possible. The freedom to be the unedited version of you - wear what you want, behave how you want - is great. For me that comes above career progression or maximising salary (but everyone has different priorities I guess). That said, we're on the up and the progression/improved comp should follow.
Also, the fact that the business is fairly small (in staff numbers and literal proximity) means you can have fingers in a bunch of pies, work with people from every team, and see your ideas make a difference (or not!). You're only ever 1 or 2 people from the top or bottom of the food chain.
I would bet that 90+% of people who have worked at PKR have enjoyed the atmosphere/people, and that that part was not a reason for leaving. There has been a higher turnover in recent years (a good thing), hence the dissatisfaction in some leavers' reviews, but you won't find that kind of sentiment inside the business now.
Cons
Challenging times - for us and the industry - mean salary/bonuses are not quite what we would wish them to be. Also, Camden is not for everyone, it's a bit grimy for me.
