Pros
- Some customers you meet are great and make the job fun - Great place if you want to do absolutely nothing and get paid for it. - Staff benefit is a random blind box chosen by head office. 9/10 times it'll be something you probably don't like.
Cons
- Stores are filled with clicks, if you're not in it, it can feel isolating and make your job harder as co-workers are less likely to help you and look annoyed/agitated when you do need help. - Favourites get special treatment and bad behaviours overlooked. While also being the only ones considered for different shift times (early finishes etc.) and upcoming opportunities. - Only certain employees are informed of key things happening in the store when all employees should be aware of what's happening - Communication is terrible at best - There are cameras everywhere in the store, which is good for loss prevention, however management/Head office (Both in Aus and China) will sit down and watch the cameras to see what employees are doing. Fun for those who want to have the feeling of being a reality TV show due to all the cameras watching you - Co-workers are more interested in talking to each other rather than greeting and helping customers. - Co-workers are extremely disinterested in assisting customers and don't know how to actively showcase their products. - Slow due to demand for products dying down - No staff discount and you're not allowed to shop at your own store. - Standing on hard floor for long periods of time without any anti-fatigue mats causes lots of days with sore feet.
