Pros

It's fun to be part of a company that has such great reputations in its relevant industries. Working with some of the best people makes coming to work enjoyable. Knowing that your own success is in your own hands is a very empowering feeling. People who work hard and do good work are rewarded at POWER. If you want to be part of a company where you can determine your own career path and success through hard work and dedication, then I would say this is the right place.

Cons

POWER is a fairly traditional company in that their decision making process is somewhat old-school at times. This isn't necessarily a negative since conservative business decisions are what have helped make POWER as successful as it is. Sometimes it would be nice to see some decisions made with a new-school thought process and considerations made for the changing generations.

Pros

Was a genuinely great place to work. Great people and great culture. It was worth the slightly-lower-than-average pay because work life balance and benefits were great. I enjoyed going to work every day.

Cons

Poor financial decisions from upper management regarding the shareholder program led to the company's demise. Upper management sold out to WSP. Management made millions while long time employees got zilch. As someone else had mentioned, retention bonuses were unfairly distributed. Most people didn't get any retention bonus even if they had been long time employees of the company. It really felt like everyone who wasn't upper management got stabbed in the back. They got their payout then dumped the company. Still stings to this day.
