Pros
Great corporate office and location. Doing very well in the market - financially very healthy. Core products are strong and sticky with our customers. New CEO - driving higher expectations from people.
Cons
There is so much mediocrity at all levels. Some of this is due to the fact that many people have been here for so long. People don't understand what "GREAT" really looks like. We need to expect more and better from people. Many of these long-timers would never make it at other companies. We are starting to align resources to the right areas of the business. The company really needs to dig into this. They should challenge every area of the business to identify and reduce 5-10% of their organization with people that are well below par or are just not needed. We don't need to add additional headcount - we just need to have high impact people in the right place. Unfortunately, there is still a lot of the good old boys club here. You can break in - but it is difficult. I don't think people realize how intimidating it can be. Some of the senior leaders continue to "protect" their friends. While this is admirable - if they are not adding value or not competent, this is a challenge.
