Pros

- easy interview - pay slightly higher than minimum - health insurance given for part-time, but not the best - professional for the most part, pretty responsive office - you get enough hours, sometimes OT depending on flights - half of the coworkers are the best, the kind you want to be friends with outside of work - time flies when it's busy, and when it's not you get to rest for a bit - can accrue paid time off easily - fairly easy to request time off (should request a month prior!) - not too stressful, can learn all you need to know in the first week just pay attention - you can work down at APC or above at an airline (more benefits at airlines but it's also more stressful) - substantial breaks (unpaid 30) - it feels good to help so many people in one day, even more so when you don't even speak the same language

Cons

- will take MONTHS to actually start working since you have to get badge/seal (don't quit your current job just yet) - because of the first fact they might not have the same position available when you finally have approval which can be very inconvenient - they take $100 deposit from your first check for uniform - in some departments women are not allowed to wear pants which is horrible for those who ride public transportation at night or when it is cold/rainy (it's 2018, PA) - inconsistent schedules - again for women: don't bother buying pretty new heels, you will suffer, buy comfortable flats with a 1 in. heel - half of the coworkers have very nasty attitudes towards the passengers, and those same people stand around talking amongst themselves - some of the supervisors are a little extra therefore unlikeable, some demand more effort than they themselves put in - no direct deposits - lots of negative views on management (though I haven't experienced much of this myself) - working your way up does not seem possible nor worth it because of favoritism * parking: DON'T waste your money on parking, if you drive park at the metro station and take the G bus; for those who use Uber, take a shuttle to any hotel to get out of LAX it will be much cheaper; for those who get picked up, take the shuttle to a nearby hotel and meet your ride there (thank me later!)

This is the best and most useful review I've read. Thank you for sharing in such detail. Very quickly on some of these. Our uniform policy allows for pants for females and indeed we provide them. We are at times restricted by the grooming policy of our customers. We prefer a 1" heel and not higher. Parking is a problem for all airport employees. Unfortunately that is out of our hands. However, we will take your advice and do a better job of preparing people for what to expect. The amount of time it takes to get a badge and a seal are also out of our hands. However, government agencies have been able to speed up the process to about 3 weeks. We do now offer direct deposit and are in the process of enrolling those who want it. You're right about the schedule thing. We're working ways of doing just that. Thanks again for the honest review. I hope you come back and work for us again in the future.
