Pros
Amazing people, competitive pay, above average PTO
Cons
PL constantly preaches how well they treat their actuaries and how much they care about work-life balance—but their actions show the opposite. Over the past two years, they’ve made major changes that have only hurt the culture. Promises of flexibility and employee support have been replaced by rigid policies, poor communication, and decisions that completely disregard what employees actually want or need. They say they want to improve the culture, but clearly don’t listen to their people. Forcing employees to uproot their lives just to be in an office doesn’t create a positive culture—it creates frustration and burnout. When I first joined, I truly loved PL and saw myself here long-term. That’s no longer the case.
