Pros
-Frontline staff who genuinely want to help and do everything they can to help those in need, often to their own personal detriment. -In theory, the charity has a meaningful mission.
Cons
-Staff turnover rate. Avg- 1-2 yrs -Staff are completely undervalued. While upper management are giving themselves bonuses (yep!), those who are working themselves to death to make a positive impact get paid in peanuts. -Upper management doesn't provide support for staff and have no competence or understanding of how prisons actually work. -HR, completely useless. Less than Zero Support when needed. -Abysmal training. A few general online courses for new starters without anything directly related to prisons and personal safety. They claim to be an expert prison charity and throw in new graduates with no life experience or training into situations with master manipulators (prison pop.). It's very poor and unprofessional. -The CEO sets out these grand ideas without a clue of how to get things done and dumps it on those below to figure it out without any additional resources. -Do yourself and your wellbeing a huge favour and avoid at all costs.
