Pros

Many tech companies try to stretch an idealistic company culture over top of their actual company culture. This can often create a discrepancy between "what we say our company is like" and "what working at the company is actually like." For instance, many companies say they respect your work/life balance but, when it comes down to it, they don't. At Pagely, our culture is more than just idealistic hot air. Leadership really cares about creating an environment that fosters happy, healthy employees. Really. The thought process is that if Pagely takes care of its employees, they'll be motivated to take care of Pagely's customers. So far (almost 10 years!), it's working great. The company is profitable and growing. I'm about mid-way through my career so I've worked enough to know good companies from bad ones. Pagely is the company I've been looking for and I don't plan on leaving. They value their employees, they respect their employees, and they take care of their employees. Unfortunately, that's fairly rare these days. I consider myself lucky to work here. Every employee is expected to act as a leader. This means that it's important to self-manage but it also means that you're free to contribute where you feel you can make the most impact. You're in control. It's empowering, it's great for me personally, but if you're the type of person that wants to be told what to do, this probably isn't the company for you. As employees, we're held to high standards (but not in an oppressive or exploitative way) and you'd be working with some of the top people in their field.

Cons

I haven't found any noteworthy cons.

Cons

$57k/Yr without bonuses in 2025 is tough, but it could always be worse ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Pros

It's been great working with good developers again! I've learned quite a few new technologies (mostly AWS services). In Phoenix, we have the only (afaik) dedicated office, located at Galvanize for the engineering team. Of course, we can still work remote, but most of us like to work at the office at least half of the week. We also host azPHP (Phoenix' biggest PHP meetup/group) there. The company is very adamant on having a good work-life separation and encourages taking time off when you need. Every person I've worked with in the company has been top notch and everyone's a leader in their department. The company is also still small enough where everyone knows every one else's name.

Cons

Engineering dept can be a bit particular in how things are done, but really it's a good thing IMO since we allow for any good developers to join the team... just don't come in expecting to be a "XYZ Framework" developer.
