Pros
You never got bored at Panda Express. Work environment was very, very clean with health standards followed very well. Food was great and you got a free meal each shift. Most of my coworkers were friendly and competent. POS system was easy to use and this job was good for anyone who is able to balance multiple tasks and do competent work quickly. Find out where the camera blind spots are if you want to snack or check your phone during your shift.
Cons
This restaurant is a surveillance state! Its a little disorienting to come in after a day where there were literal hurricane force winds and be reprimanded for not seeming busy enough when the manager reviewed the tapes of your work day...there were NO customers. Constant visits from other managers and company higher ups put insane strain on the employees. Too much is always delegated to the workers, especially in drive thru. The worst bs at this job doesnt come from the store level management but from company higher ups. My manager could be mean but I probably would be dead inside if I had to meet the crazy standards the company wanted. Always new initiatives, ridiculous requests, and a general lack of understanding of what working in a fast food restaurant is actually like. Constant contradictions, managers would get in trouble for employees staying on the clock too long but the closing duties required were difficult and lengthy, and impossible to get done on time when the store was busy. Cashiers would get in trouble for sales record things that were beyond their control. Someone wants a refund because they realize they dont like fried rice? Congrats youre in the red! Half of the regulars are awful people. If you get harassed by a creepy customer you just have to deal with it, even when what he has said is enough for most managers to kick a customer out. :( The joys of womanhood........
