Great mission, poor upper management - Account Manager Participate Learning Employee Review

Pros

Great multicultural experience with staff members representing varios groups.

Cons

Family company, run by family friends and members that are not necessarily knowledgeable or open to new ideas. Projects are never completed or implemented. Upper management does not listen to employee feedback even when requested. In the end upper management ignores the new ideas and implements policies or new initiatives without considering feedback. Upper management takes more time off than regular employees (e.g. leaving work early to meet a local pub for beers and work). They bend their own rules and policies, and even go as far as pushing the line between partner agreements to achieve a profit. Do not acknowledge overtime work by salaried employees, promising later time off but rarely granted.

Pros

Good benefits, good PTO, remote options

Cons

TLDR; Poor leadership, discrimination, micromanagers, favoritism, no diversity within the board or C-Suite. It’s just a glorified staffing agency with delusional leadership. Absolutely do not recommend working here if you are LGBTQ+; they have no DEI initiatives and it shows. There’s a lot of favoritism and nepotism and if you bring up concerns then you’ll be pushed out. The whole “we are a B Corp” thing is such a facade. There are wage discrepancies with lots of over-worked and under-paid staff. The C-Suite repeatedly says that Participate Learning should be non-partisan. However, they will bend backwards to appease ultra conservatives and will never stand up for their values. They also spent a bunch of money for an all staff retreat to go to Orlando Florida in 2024 and then told the company not to post about it on social media or let anyone know. Take that as you will. I wish you all the best on your job search and if you’re reading this then I know that you deserve better than Participate Learning.
