Pros
I worked in the Corporate Actuarial team in Toronto. The CEO is great. He came with many years of experience, has great virtues, and is a trustworthy leader. They offer remote work to valued interns/candidates. I miss working with the other associates. I decided to leave because 7 of my colleagues resigned earlier this year.
Cons
Actuarial study program - Their maximum study days allowed in a year is 30 while my friends at Manulife and Sunlife get 40. They ask you to pay back your exam expenses if you leave the company. Failing is not an option because you will lose all exam support. Rotation is... lackluster. The team is too small for a formal rotation program. People rotate but to different companies. Management, office culture, and staff retention. You will find out when you are there.
