Cons
Inexperienced executive team who are very focused on their own PR and personal brand building vs. true growth for the business, its portfolio of brands, and its employees. Too great of an emphasis is placed on brand acquisitions, resulting in questionable decision making while also diluting and diminishing once solid brands. Lots of nepotism here as founders are very quick to provide roles and consulting opportunities to those in their personal networks instead of trusting, empowering, and supporting those who they hired for their many years of outside expertise. Often resulting in restructuring, layoffs, and a reliance on an army of offshore contractors. In addition to their inexperience in operationalizing brands, founders are often in disagreement with one another resulting in unclear roles and responsibilities, and general lack of clarity.
