Pros

I have worked for Paychex for 8 years. I began as a payroll specialist, and became a supervisor. Many managers within the company are great to work with/for. The benefits at Paychex are competitive for the market, which is a plus. The other great thing about Paychex is stability. As long as you do what you are asked to do, you can work for Paychex forever.

Cons

The compensation at Paychex is not competitive for most markets. The technical aptitude required to be successful is found in positions that pay 20 - 30% more elsewhere. You will also find that people are able to keep their jobs long after they should be allowed to. Under-performers are coached and counseled for a very long time which affects morale.

Pros

People and the overall environment is a positive one. If you do your part, definite long term career potential. It’s not easy- but stable, growing. Worth serious consideration for early career looking for sales experience with a great training program. Also good for mid-career consideration if base salary isn’t the primary reason you are in sales.

Cons

Very fast pace that doesn’t suit everyone. If you are looking for easy or just a job to “hang out”, this probably isn’t the right spot for you.

Pros

Literally just being able to work fully remote, but not much else

Cons

Pay is ridiculously low for the expected effort and tasks needed to handle client sales and after sales nurturement. About 1/3 of sales team ever hits the monthly quota. You get 13% commissions of deal size which typical deal size is anywhere from $700-$1500, 13% of that is less than $200 gross for huge amount of work load per deal for the client to just end up canceling and commissions gets clawed back.
