Pros
Looked great on paper and the girls you work with are amazing, your fellow teachers and the kitchen staff always support and lift you up. The assistant director is an angel.
Cons
Pediatrics Plus looked wonderful on paper, but once we got into the thick of things, it became very clear they were in it for the money and not the children, much less the employees. Countless times I requested proper assistance for children who I clearly knew needed therapies, no matter how big or small. I was shoved off with "oh it takes time", "we'll work on that" and other empty statements that did not benefit our children and their families. Many children were grandfathered in from the previous company. Those children were quickly "tested out" and kicked out leaving many families without childcare or therapy that their child needed. Why? So that they could get more severe children in to make more money. Several times, I brought to my director's attention that a child was being abused and neglected at home and nothing was done about it. The child's therapist echoed my concerns based on what they saw and they got in trouble for going to DHS. As child care providers, especially to children of special needs, is it not our job to protect and provide for these children at all costs? The meals provided were awful, even our hungriest children wouldn't touch it. They refused to allow teachers to eat (model eating) with the children. I got into teaching, specifically special needs preschoolers because I wanted to help children from a very early age, with therapies, early intervention, and an adult they could trust and count on. I was unable to do this and it broke my spirit, broke my heart. I've been doing this for 10+ years and never have I worked for a company that was so heartless to both employees and families. Teachers do not get into teaching for the money, they get into teaching to help children be the best they can be. I highly recommend NOT giving this company your business.
