Pros
For context, there were layoffs in April which is why you may see a bunch of negative reviews around that time. I thought I'd write a more balanced review now that we're five months out from those layoffs. I'm just an Engineer, I'm not a shill.
- really great people, talent and personality wise, my favorite part of working here
- plenty of interesting projects to work on and opportunities for ownership
- easy to shape your career here (for instance in product, you can switch between technical roles fairly easily -- management is very good about encouraging career growth)
- product that actually has users and customers (so you're not pushing code into a void)
- flexible schedule (remote first company) and unlimited PTO that you can actually use without feeling ashamed
- again the people: no real slackers dragging down teams, no jargon or corpo-talk, everyone's pretty honest and trusting, people work hard but also it doesn't feel overbearing (great work/life balance, don't feel pressure to answer slack outside of regular work hours, etc.)
Cons
- priorities are frequently top-down
- process has been a bit more rigid than I like
- people love to have meetings (this might be a pro for some, but I prefer async communication and using slack)
