Pros

I haven't had much exposure to all the people at all levels of Perficient, but the people I have worked with are all very bright and very motivated. This, I have found, is the main reason I like working for this company. I initially liked the company because of the very nature of the business it was in: consulting. The ability to travel the country, meet new people, work on different projects using different skillsets, networking, etc was all very appealing to me. But once I have worked on a couple of projects, I have found that one of the most important reasons I love working for this company is because of the people that I get a chance to work with everyday. As I have said above, they are all very motivated, ambitious, dedicated, and intelligent. I not only learn from them by example, but they are more than willing to spend time teaching me about a subject I may not be familiar with, regardless of the level. Also, I can't complain about the bonus structure either :)

Cons

I wouldn't say there are many downsides to Perficient from a long term perspective. Sure, I do have some gripes about the logistics of the company, but i would imagine most people do as well (the expense system Primavera comes to mind). One aspect of the company that i am concerned about, and it has showed in our declining stock price, is not the inability to grow organically, because i think we can, but the reluctance of upper management to let the company grow organically. They are constantly on the prowl for acquisition targets. I have been on numerous investor calls where the company has just been hammered by investors wanting to know about organic growth. I have no doubt that with the quality of people Perficient employs there is substantial opportunity for organic growth, but it seems management always covers up that ability with another acquisition. Taken with a grain of salt, I complain about the stock price declining but the overall macroeconomic conditions have been less than favorable the past 6 months.

Pros

Very little outside of some of the people you work with. FTO is only nice if you have a manager who lets you use it. They did allow work from home, not sure if that is still the case.

Cons

This company was run poorly by Tom Hogan before private equity bought it but the buyout accelerated their decline. If you want to be a cog in the machine, this is the place for you. The leadership is only focused on themselves. They will praise you or throw you under the bus depending on how they feel it makes them look to their bosses. The employees who don’t have a stable long term project live in fear of being let go irregardless of talent and many of their most talented are leaving because they see the writing on the wall.
