Pros
The only positive is the exposure to different areas of marketing, but that’s mostly because there is no structure or role clarity. You end up doing a bit of everything whether you’re prepared for it or not.
Cons
I’ve been in marketing for less than a year, and this company has been a frustrating and discouraging place to start my career. The biggest issue is the complete lack of direction from leadership. There is no clear strategy from the CEO, and priorities change constantly with no communication or rationale. What’s urgent today is irrelevant tomorrow. The environment feels chaotic and reactive. Processes don’t exist, expectations are unclear, and new initiatives are launched without planning, resources, or follow-through. This creates confusion, burnout, and a sense that no one is actually steering the ship. Culturally, things are equally disorganized. I experienced misogynistic behavior from a newly hired employee, which was deeply disappointing but not surprising given how poorly the company is managed overall. There appears to be little accountability or concern for creating a respectful, professional workplace. At this point, I’m counting the days until I can leave. I came in hoping to learn and grow, but instead I’ve learned what a lack of leadership and structure looks like in practice.
