Pros

I'm nearly 40 and have spent 20 years in the customer service field working for over 8 different companies. PetFlow is far and away one of the best employers I have encountered. Your benefits to start, even at a basic position, are excellent with immediate paid sick leave; vacation time is accrued in a fair manner as you work. Pay is very competitive (including paid holidays), supervisors genuinely care for the well-being of their teams. The support network for help of any sort is extensive, and you are treated as a team member and human being, not as a cog in a machine. This is true for everybody, from a customer service representative on phones all the way up to the GM and CEO.

Cons

As with every customer service position, the hours can get a little long and sometimes tiring being on phones and handling emails all day. Volunteers are asked to work every holiday, including major ones like Christmas, New Years, and the 4th of July. Usually there is no problem finding volunteers to work, so I have yet to see anybody forced to come in on a holiday if they did not volunteer for it.

Pros

Full time, set hours/days off, paid lunches, benefits upon hire, fully stocked kitchen with snacks and drinks, and monthly rewards for good work, like catered food. Leadership truly cares about their people and their well-being. This is a low pressure job and it really is a change of pace from former jobs that induce high stress environments and treat people like disposable units of labor. This place is way better. The people here are extremely friendly and helpful and I feel like people could really grow here professionally if they put in the work. :)

Cons

Not too many opportunities for advancement. I wish there were more clear paths/guidance for where you could go if you want to move up. However, I do feel like there is great potential for it in the future the way things are looking. Also, being on phones all day can be rough when you get a slew of difficult customers, but it’s all a part of the job. The office pups definitely help with that though :)
