      Need for Better Leadership - Operations Pfenex Employee Review

      Pros

      More than 70% of the staff are team -company-goal oriented and friendly. The Chiefs on board are supportive for process improvement and harmony. Several on-going opportunities to improve the company processes (in all departments), but requires one to be a little out-spoken and needs support from above.

      Cons

      An inherent lack of organized and responsible leaders. Tendency to operate away from the Plan. Instructions are not always consistent but expected to be followed on the fly. Employees are enforced to work more than 9 and up 17 hr shifts without compensation including staff who are sick with the flu. Assignments of same tasks are delegated to multiple people results in unnecessary duplication of efforts and confusion. Millenniums showing little respect.

      *Affordable Drugs & Vaccines That Make a Difference in Patients' Lives *Employees Who Care *Financial Stability *On-Site Company Events *Thu Evening Happy Hour

      Cons

      *CEO - Brilliant individual but he doesn't practice what he preaches and he's very arrogant; Seems untrustworthy and known for outbursts; Not approachable *Work/Life balance but growing company in new industry so not out of the norm *Pushes the science way too fast that may end up hurting the business one day by team members/scientists leaving due to the stress and demands of the environment
