Pros
Philz allows their leaders on the store level to operate their own business the way they see fit (with a few minor guidelines to maintain consistency). This allows creative leaders try new ideas with out the stress of hitting a number on a spreadsheet, and those ideas generally get passed around the company. This is how retail should operate. CEO is extremely kind and sincere, which given the fact that his Dad is the founder makes it even more impressive. He truly wants his company to do things the right way and it shows.
Cons
With scaling a small business comes a certain amount of pain points. Philz is not immune to the corporate ladder needing to take precedence over feedback from in the stores. They are far better than most in this regard, but still have their moments.
