Pros
Some great colleagues. Some interesting projects. Opportunity to work from home (although this seems frowned upon). Company bonus each year. Uses good tech (Jira, Azure etc)
Cons
Feels like management don't trust staff. Feels like management don't like people to work from home. It seems that it's more important to management that you have your computer time tracking software running than actually getting on with work and addressing the tracker later (the tracker is a flakey piece of software that sometimes requires a reboot of the laptop to get working). Arriving to meetings on time isn't enough, you are expected to arrive early, even if you've come from another meeting beforehand or if this meeting is the first meeting in core hours. Core hours are 10-3 but if you don't log on/arrive by 9:30am people complain (unless you have kids) likewise if you want to finish at 3, managers will try to keep you. Company takes 3-4 days from your holiday allowance so they can close down over Christmas (whether your a Christian or not) so bare that in mind when looking at the number of holidays you get on the job sheet. Company only seems to care about pensions (which is great) but in the meantime, mental health is being compromised due to burn out, stress and worrying over job security and nobody actually cares. Nobody listens. Feels like a boys club with an inner circle and the little guys are just numbers. They say we're a family, but this is nothing like family.
