Pros

I've been at PN for just over two years now. I've seen a few changes, a period of fast growth at the tail end of Covid, and then a little pause in early 2023 due to a downturn in advertising which affected every single publisher in the world. Silly rumours about 'up to 30' people leaving which makes no sense. A very small handful of redundancies were announced, then a few more people decided to move on due to uncertainties. This was only a tiny fraction of the total employee count (which is over 70 people) and nowhere near the numbers circulating on Twitter. Following the redundancies issue, the SLT has done a lot of work on improving internal communications to ensure no one in future feels left out or left behind and feels they need to leave 'just in case' they're the ones being looked at to be made redundant. The senior leadership is also making a big concerted effort to ensure our own in-house sales teams are making the majority of sales rather than relying on third party platforms which can only be a good thing and help our long term future. Decent salaries and I believe everyone has a range for their role now so they know what increases they're eligible for. The office is a good space, it's always fun to go in. We have been drop-in to date but most teams have been asked to go in one day a week together. I think this should continue to be optional given that colleagues who don't live in London are excused so managers should encourage a set day a week rather than demand it.

Cons

Still feel there are times when the most senior people get 'in the way' with the minutia of jobs, when they've hired experts in their fields to do the day to day work. They should focus on the bigger picture and let staff focus on doing things the way they know.
