What was one a remote job as told by multiple people doing interview/hiring process became coming in 1 day a week. Now its switching to two days a week. We had an office party where they gave away free stuff so a bunch of people who never show their face in office came and this convinced upper management that everyone now wants to come in twice a week.
Warning, there was hardly any desk space left during holiday part and some of us were told we would have to move if more people show up. Move where exactly?
As part of a team that works until 8pm EST, its crazy to be told one moment about 7% of phone calls come after 6pm, but there are no plans to move more people to morning crew.
Also employees getting promoted/title changes without job postings, talk about favoritism, employees leaving to other teams/leaving the company and then higher ups deciding they arent going to fill the positions we lost.
Let see, wanting to know if the amount of morning people we have on phones is the new permanent number and someone being delusional enough to say summer is around the corner. Its February, summer is out slow month. So i guess its fine to suffer for a couple months now since summer is right around the corner.
Getting more and more work put on top of your own because so many people left the team, but dont worry guys you’ll get that 1% raise. Sorry mines was 1.5% not the 3-5% the company says by the way.
Also always fun that when you are in the office, everyone and i do mean everyone except us who dont matter vanishes from the office by 4:30-5pm. Once had upper managerment tell us he was going home early because a storm was coming and he didnt want to get stuck in it. Must have been nice not to get stuck in the rain like us.
Upper management is completely out of touch. They want people back in office while they dont come themselves of dont stay the full day. They quote articles published years ago about how great being back in office is, ignoring recent data.
Honestly this jobs is good for the moment but not long term. They talk about how all these changes are to improve team work and communication (obviously they cant say they just want to micromanage us) but they say that and drop these big changes with no communication, nothing. We either get told by email or a team meeting. When we went back to office 1 day of week they only gave us like 2 weeks warning or so. This time they were nice enough to give us a month.
Also, even though its been over a year, having someone higher up telling me to figure it out and deal with it doesnt help anyone but prove how out of touch and unimportant your employees are to you.
